1. Identify the exact item and claim
Record signer, object, inscription, ink, likely date, edition or model, authentication and every separate claim about use or provenance.
2. Preserve and document the evidence
Photograph the complete item, close signature, certificate, sticker, labels, defects and original packaging. Keep receipts and event records paired with the item.
3. Verify independently
Use the issuing authenticator's official database. Match the physical object with the official record and remember that a copied certification number can be placed on a different item.
4. Compare realistic market evidence
Match signer, item type, authenticator, inscription, condition and sale date. Use several completed sales rather than the highest active listing.
